TL;DR: How to Not Be a Reef Hazard "Reef safe" and "reef friendly" labels mean nothing — they're unregulated marketing terms. Ignore the front of the bottle. Flip the bottle and check active ingredients. Avoid: oxybenzone, octinoxate, octocrylene, homosalate, octisalate, and 4-MBC. West Bay 5K Scenic Loop
If you enjoy walking, the West Bay Area has a spectacular 3-mile (5K) walking loop that covers jungle, beach, and the rugged Iron Shoreline. Most of the route is paved, excluding the beach of course, and a short part through a field. Sections of the route are quite steep, but a few variations and cut throughs will enable you to bypass the most challenging sections.
